Comforting Homes
BOOK DESIGN

Throughout the book, it will become clear that Nathalie Deboel looks for balance instead of controversy. She aims for soothing, timeless interiors with a well-considered palette of precious materials. The choice of finishes can range from eclectic and exuberant to minimal and quiet. However varied the characters of her clients are, the aim is to create a personal and familiar place that fits their individual needs.

An abstract play of shapes symbolize interior on the cover. On the back of the book, they become a play of lines, embossed in the linnen hardcover, creating a tactile link with the interiors seen inside the book. The book was printed on high-end paper and the linnen used, is called 'Toile Ocean - Plage' which is very fitting. This linnen is the first book cloth made from ocean plastic through an award-winning up-cycling process. For every square meter of Toile Ocean, over five 0.5l PET bottles are recycled. What's more: for every meter of Toile Ocean sold, 1% of the turnover goes to clean water projects.
