Tiny Things
BOOK DESIGN
Rob Buelens’ is a master at making models. Each construction encompasses a great density of activity, teeming with anonymous little figures and layer upon
layer of materials. It is almost comical to observe the masses of tiny things joining forces to realize their monumental project, a project far bigger than themselves.
The book is a collection of Rob's greatest works from the start of his career until this moment in 2024. The form of the book, and all the materials chosen, are perfectly aligned with the content. The cover, clad with a wood-paper, embossed with the title in a copper foil. The elongated - rectangular shape of the book emphasizes the high structures we will see inside of the book. But the design-element that stands out the most is the spine. Here, dozens of tiny figures are embossed in a matte black foil on a beautiful copper linen, resulting in a busy mass of working class.
